After a long career in managing accounts, Joanne decided to join her husband in the family business back in 2000. As Finance Director Jo took control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the business including budgeting, taxation, capital requirements and providing sound financial analysis to the top team. Jo finds working with Del both challenging and interesting at times. Outside of work they even share their passion for scout leadership where she can demonstrate her amazing creative talents.
As founder & Managing Director Del takes control of all strategic matters & business partnerships within the company. His career started in the Royal Air Force back in 1973 as a Survival Equipment Fitter working on a wide range of military aircraft. After a career in the RAF combined with a wealth of expertise, he went onto work in various private parachute and survival businesses in the UK & Europe. Del’s passion for historical military survival equipment is clear today, he also utilises his RAF survival skills in Scouting where he inspires his love of outdoor adventure.
As an integral part of the senior management team Nicki is instrumental to the day to day operations of the business leading in business administration and client communications. After a career in the military and years of working in business administration Nicki’s organisation and leadership skills support and drive internal efficiencies and effective administration processes aligned to SES’s strategic vision. A keen chef and busy mum, Nicki enjoys playing netball and supporting community groups.
Amanda is responsible for PR and communications for the company. With a background spanning over 15 years in marketing Amanda has been responsible for several company rebranding projects and heading up various marketing communications teams in the business to business sector. Currently Amanda is updating all of our marketing collateral, writing news releases, case studies and updating our website. She also manages all of our digital marketing. Outside of SES she runs a sports therapy clinic and has a busy family life with 3 children and enjoys a variety of sports including running and netball.
International Sales Manager
Alex heads up the Sales & Business Development division both nationally and internationally, working across all of our business sectors. Alex’s philosophy to business success is through customer satisfaction and strongly believes that unrivalled service delivery is the key to success. Driven to be the partner of choice for both supply and service, Alex has already partnered SES with MSA while increasing our product portfolio in addition to securing new and exciting international distributors. Outside of work, Alex enjoys exploring the globe on both land and sea and when not in the fast lane himself, enjoys a Sunday afternoon watching the Formula1.
Chances are if you’ve phoned into SES, you’ve spoken to our lovely Ginny. Ginny handles many of our customer enquiries and orders by telephone and email. Responsible for much of the day-to-day office administration, including managing our export licences and import documentation. Highly organised with a fun and vibrant personality, Ginny multi-tasks several customer orders to ensure on-time delivery and has built up an extensive knowledge of our survival equipment portfolio. With two teenage daughters, Ginny is kept busy outside of work but when time permits, enjoys going to the theatre and keeping fit.
QA & Production Manager
Andy heads up SES’s Quality team and has been influential to us meeting and exceeding standards in customer care. A solid background of working in quality standards in the Aerospace and Defence industries and as an inspector of Data Recorders for various aircraft gave Andy a wealth of expertise that he has brought to SES. On a day to day basis, Andy drives the development and deployment of our quality assurance system in line with regulatory and certification requirements. Outside of work he enjoys music, gardening and entertaining and would one day like to be part of ‘Come Dine With Me’.
Survival Equipment Team Leader
Heading up the Technician team of Survival Equipment, Pete’s role is to manage the team of Technicians that regular service and repair equipment that save Pilot’s lives. With a career in the Royal Air Force behind him as a trained Survival Equipment Technician, Pete has a wealth of expertise in parachute assembly, life-rafts and preservers and in the maintenance of aircrew equipment. Ultimately, he ensures that all equipment is serviced and maintained to a high standard and on time. Outside of SES, Pete can often be found on the golf course reducing his handicap.
Lead Escape Systems Engineer
As Lead Escape Systems Engineer Andy has over 15 years’ experience of ejection seat system maintenance. Having worked in both the military and private sector he is responsible for the overhaul of Martin Baker seats and canopy jettison equipment including stripping, maintenance and testing. Expertise of working on the legacy era of MK2’s through to MK10’s, combined with his Royal Air Force career working on Tornado, Jaguar, Buccaneer and Victor, Andy is a great asset to SES. Away from work, Andy has a keen interest in British and world superbikes and attends race days as often as he can.
Mick joined SES as Compliance Consultant with responsibility for evolving the company QMS and enhancing our business & regulatory processes. SES will benefit significantly from his roles at Martin Baker as Chief Instructor and helping develop the MBA MRO business and at Hawker Hunter Aviation as Quality Manager. He has 27 year-long expertise in the RAF, the majority being spent on ejection seat maintenance and 5 years as an escape system support consultant including accident investigation. Outside of work, Mick has a passion for restoring motorbikes, loves music and hillwalking.
